The Los Angeles Angels open up their 2023 regular season schedule on Thursday in an Opening Day matchup with the Oakland Athletics. Fortunately for the fans, their home opener can be attended for a manageable cost.

Around Major League Baseball, franchises with steady success prepare for packed stadiums and tickets that come at a premium, but one overwhelmingly unfortunate positive for Angels owner Arte Moreno and the fan base is the ability to attend games without breaking the bank.

The Angels tickets and game experience are among the most affordable for their fans, via Travis Schlepp of KTLA:

A new study published by MIBets, a Michigan-based sports betting website, found that opening day tickets for the Los Angeles Dodgers are among the most expensive in all of Major League Baseball, while the same tickets for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim are among the cheapest.

The study looked at the average price of a ticket for one adult, the price of parking and the price of a hotdog and an adult beverage.

The Angels haven’t been the most competitive team for the better part of a decade, which accounts for the availability of tickets, and when stacking up against the Dodgers, the difference in cost is astronomical:

Meanwhile, just a short drive south, those wanting to catch opening day for the Angels can do so by shelling out only $45.50 — more than $100 less than their counterparts in L.A. proper.

The Angels home opener is the fourth-cheapest in Major League Baseball, trailing only the Oakland Athletics, the Cleveland Guardians and the Minnesota Twins.

For all of the losing, the fans can enjoy watching two of the best players in the sport, all season, for a fraction of the cost as the Dodgers or Padres, which makes them one of the best values in the sport.

Angels and MLB adopt new tech

One of the most notable innovations is the introduction of wearable technology for players. Angels players and the rest of the league will have the option to wear advanced, innovative apparel equipped with biometric sensors to monitor vital statistics such as heart rate, fatigue, and muscle activity.

This real-time data will optimize training regimens, prevent injuries, and ensure players remain in peak condition throughout the season.
