Brenton Doyle delivered a game-tying two-run single and later scored the decisive run on Ezequiel Tovar’s sacrifice fly as the Colorado Rockies used a four-run sixth inning to outlast the Los Angeles Angels 7-6 on Friday night.

Tyler Freeman fueled Colorado’s offense with three hits, including a double, while Hunter Goodman added an RBI triple. The Rockies snapped a five-game skid, improving to 3-14 in September. The Angels, meanwhile, dropped their eighth straight.

Goodman’s triple in the first brought home Freeman, and Blaine Crim added a sacrifice fly to give Colorado an early lead. The Angels answered in the second with back-to-back homers from Christian Moore and Denzer Guzman to go up 3-2, but Freeman’s second hit of the night tied it in the bottom half.

Los Angeles put together a three-run fifth to regain the lead, but the Rockies stormed back with four runs in the sixth, capped by Doyle’s clutch hit and Tovar’s sac fly.

Colorado’s bullpen sealed the win with four innings of one-hit relief after starter Bradley Blalock (2-5) allowed six earned runs on eight hits across five innings. Victor Vodnik picked up his ninth save.

Mitch Farris (1-2), making his fourth career start, took the loss for the Angels after yielding eight hits and seven runs in five innings.
