Brandon Lowe belted a two-run homer and Jake Mangum added a two-run single during a seven-run fourth inning that propelled the Tampa Bay Rays to a 7-3 win over the Los Angeles Angels on Tuesday night at Angel Stadium.

The offensive explosion came after three quiet innings against Angels starter José Soriano (7-9), who had held the Rays hitless until the fourth. Yandy Díaz sparked the rally with Tampa Bay’s first hit, and Lowe followed with a 411-foot shot to center — his 20th homer of the season and third straight year reaching that mark.

Tampa Bay sent 11 batters to the plate in the inning, piling on with four more hits and a second RBI from Díaz via a groundout. Mangum’s two-run single was a key blow in the breakout frame, helping Tampa Bay snap a five-game road losing streak and claim just their third win in their last 13 games.

Ryan Pepiot (7-9) earned the win for the Rays, allowing five hits and two earned runs across 5 2/3 innings, ending his personal five-start winless streak.

Jo Adell was a bright spot for the Angels, driving in all three of the team’s runs. He launched his 23rd home run of the season — a two-run blast in the fifth — and later added an RBI single in the sixth. Still, the Angels fell to 6-6 on their 13-game homestand.

Key Moment:

The Angels threatened a comeback in the fifth, but the momentum was crushed when Logan O’Hoppe was thrown out at the plate trying to score from first on a double. Moments later, Oswald Peraza was doubled off first on a sharp lineout to Brandon Lowe, killing the rally.

Key Stat:

Brandon Lowe has now hit 20 or more home runs in three consecutive seasons and in four of the past five.

Up Next:

In Wednesday’s series finale, Angels left-hander Tyler Anderson (2-7, 4.49 ERA) looks to snap his 18-start winless streak. He’ll face Rays right-hander Shane Baz (8-8, 4.79 ERA), who has dropped five straight starts.
