Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout has been around long enough to garner a mountain of respect and become the epitome of what the model ballplayer is. Now in his 13th year with the club, he’s approaching more rarified air in the franchise record books.

Originally drafted in the first round of the 2009 Major League Baseball Draft, Trout immediately lived up to the hype, debuting at age 19 in 2011 and winning the Rookie of the Year Award the following season. On July 9th, 2011, he scored his first run at Angel Stadium when Torii Hunter homered against the Seattle Mariners.

This season Trout is closer than ever to breaking multiple club records, and on Monday against the Washington Nationals, he passed Angels great Garret Anderson for most runs scored at Angel Stadium.

It marked his 523rd in his home ballpark, and with a lot of treads still left on the tires, Trout figures to blow past that number.

Trout passed Anderson for total runs scored in club history after doing so last season. In a few seasons, he could very well take over as the RBI, total base, triples, steals, and walks leader in Angels history.

Angels outfielder Taylor Ward finding comfort roaming the outfield

Angels outfielder Taylor Ward has the upside to be one of the 10 best hitters in Major League Baseball when things are clicking, and unfortunately, his All-Star level start was derailed last season following a collision with the right-field wall in late May at Angel Stadium.

From Opening Day in 2022 through the night of his injury, the 29-year-old had posted a 1.194 on-base plus slugging through the first 30 games. But a few quick warning track steps ended the best run of his career, and the Angels in turn lost a huge piece of their offense.
