FOCO released a new mini Shohei Ohtani bobblehead that commemorates his final achievement with the Los Angeles Angels, the 2023 American League MVP Award.

Ohtani made MLB history by winning a second unanimous MVP Award. It came after he batted .304/.412/.654 with 26 doubles, eight triples, 44 home runs, 95 RBI and 20 stolen bases in 599 plate appearances over 135 games last year. He was the only player in MLB with five or more triples and at least 35 homers.

Ohtani became the second player in Angels history to lead the league in home runs, joining Troy Glaus, who led the AL in 2000 with 47 homers.

On the mound, Ohtani went 10-5 with a 3.14 ERA, 4.00 FIP, 1.06 WHIP and averaged 11.4 strikeouts per nine innings in 23 starts. Ohtani allowed one or fewer earned runs in 13 of 23 outings, and notched his first career shutout on July 27, 2023, against the Detroit Tigers.

The mini Ohtani bobblehead features the All-Star dressed in an Angels uniform and holding his 2023 AL MVP Award in one hand and baseball bat in the other. Ohtani is set atop a circular base that includes the Angels’ team logo and text displays of his name and “American League MVP” as well.

Ohtani became the fourth different MVP winner in Angels franchise history. He joined Don Baylor (1979), Vladimir Guerrero (2004), Mike Trout (2014, 2016 and 2019). Ohtani won his first AL MVP Award in 2021.

Additional Ohtani bobbleheads available from FOCO include a new limited edition that features dirt from the 2024 MLB All-Star Game at Globe Life Field.

Angels pay tribute to Shohei Ohtani

The Freeway Series this week marked Ohtani’s first visit to Angel Stadium during the regular season since signing a record-breaking contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
