Los Angeles Angels superstar Mike Trout has called Anaheim home for 12 years now. But before that, he was native to New Jersey. And with that came a childhood fandom for the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Eagles have been one of the best teams in football in 2024. With one week remaining in the regular season, Philadelphia has a 13-3 record and are locked into the No. 2 seed in the NFC postseason picture. And they clinched that position by defeating the Dallas Cowboys in blowout fashion in Week 17.

Trout was in attendance for the division-clinching victory, something Trout often does during the MLB offseason. And Eagles All-Pro cornerback Darius Slay made sure to give Trout a souvenir in the endzone, via the NFL on Twitter:

The Angels superstar is certainly among the most notable of Eagles fans. And whenever he attends an Eagles game, he is one of the main fan attractions. The game ball from Slay is a great souvenir to remember what has been an incredible Eagles season up to this point.

It would be even more memorable if the Eagles go on to win the Super Bowl. They are currently among the teams with the five-best odds to take home the Lombardi, alongside the Detroit Lions, Minnesota Vikings, Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills.

Angels may be more comfortable with Mike Trout in corner outfield

One of the major decisions the Angels have to face this offseason is what they do with superstar center fielder Trout. When healthy, Trout is still one of the best players on the planet. But he hasn’t been healthy in four seasons, now having played a total of 266 games (41.0%) since the start of 2021.

Each season, conversations have grown stronger and stronger about the possibility of the Angels moving Trout to either designated hitter or a corner outfield spot in an effort to preserve his health. But up until now, Trout has rebuked the idea and has stuck in center.

The 2024 offseason is the first time where Trout has shown a willingness to make a positional move if it helps him stay on the field and helps the Angels win games. The Angels have their own decision-making process on this as well. And so far, it seems as though the franchise has a preference for their oft-injured superstar.
