Baseball season has officially arrived. Or, at the very least, Spring Training for the 2025 season. The Los Angeles Angels get up and running this week with pitchers and catchers slated to report on Feb. 12, the full team on Feb. 17 and the first Spring Training game on Feb. 22.

In addition to the 40-man roster that will all be in attendance for Spring Training, each team also brings with them a full slate of non-roster invites that can include minor leaguers, veterans and anything in between. This year, the 26 names the Angels are bringing carry some intriguing talent.

The two biggest names on this list are infielders Tim Anderson, J.D. Davis and Christian Moore. Both Anderson and Davis are coming off of difficult 2024 campaigns, but are not many years removed from being extremely productive players. Anderson was a batting champion for the Chicago White Sox and Davis had an 18-homer season in 2023. Moore is the organization’s No. 2 prospect at second base.

All three are certainly competing for a roster spot given some of the unknown with the Angels infield. Zach Neto is expected to miss the start of the season after undergoing shoulder surgery, and L.A. did not make any blockbuster signings in their infield.

They currently have Nolan Schanuel locked in at first base and Luis Rengifo locked into one infield starting spot for Opening Day. But Anthony Rendon, Yoan Moncada, Scott Kingery, Kevin Newman and now Anderson, Davis and Moore could be some combination of the other two spots.

The only other offensive player with intrigue heading into Spring Training is outfielder Nelson Rada. Although the four players making the Opening Day roster are all but set with Mike Trout, Jo Adell, Taylor Ward and Mickey Moniak, Rada ended the 2024 season as the Angels’ No. 4 prospect via MLB Pipeline.

Chris Cortez, Victor Gonzalez, Ryan Johnson, George Klassen and Camden Minacci are just some of the pitchers to watch for as well. Klassen is considered among the top prospects in the organization and there are certainly bullpen spots up for grabs as of now.

The next month will be fascinating for the Angels as they look for the finishing touches on a roster that they hope will bring them back into postseason contention for the first time in over a decade.
