With Major League Baseball having the longest regular season of any major American sport, the calendar is constantly moving and looking ahead. That’s why the Los Angeles Angels — and the 29 other teams — revealed their 2022 Spring Training schedules on Wednesday morning.
Spring Training does not count towards the standings or for anything important, but it serves as an excellent appetizer for a long MLB regular season, as young players get their chance to play with the big league logo on their jersey and stars get to ease into the action.
The Angels released their 33-game Spring Training and exhibition schedule with some notable opponents and annual traditions via the Angels Twitter account:

The Halos open up the Cactus League in Arizona on Feb. 26, 2022 against the Milwaukee Brewers. They then play multiple Spring Training doubleheader, which usually involved an A-Team and a B-Team playing at two separate sites at the same time.
In this case, they’ll play the Kansas City Royals and L.A. Dodgers on March 6, the San Francisco Giants and Texas Rangers on March 12, the Rangers and Seattle Mariners on March 18, and the Chicago White Sox and Tampa Bay Rays on March 24.
Spring Training ends on March 25 against the Arizona Diamondbacks before the Angels head back home for one exhibition series. Following annual tradition, the Angels face the Dodgers in a three-game set from March 27-29. Game 1 will be at home with Games 2 and 3 at Dodger Stadium.
Angels open up 2022 regular season in Oakland
The Spring Training schedule release comes significantly after the release of the 2022 regular season schedule. The Angels — in what is becoming an annual tradition of its own — will face the Oakland Athletics in a four-game series on the road. They’ll then play two games in Washington against the Seattle Mariners before their home opener against the Houston Astros in Game 7 of their season.
