The 2022 MLB Playoffs have finally arrived. Due to the new Collective Bargaining Agreement, 12 teams will take the field vying for a chance to win the World Series.

For the eighth consecutive year, the Los Angeles Angels are not involved in the postseason, tying the longest streak in all of baseball. But that doesn’t mean there won’t be intrigue among the teams still alive.

With the new format, the top two seeds in the American League and National League receive byes directly to the Division Series. The lowest-seeded division winner in each league will face the lowest-seeded Wild Card, while the two top Wild Cards face off in a best-of-three.

The Division Series will then continue as normal. In the AL, the Houston Astros and New York Yankees are ranked No. 1 and No. 2, meaning they are automatically in the ALDS. The No. 3-seeded Cleveland Guardians face the No. 6 Tampa Bay Rays, and the No. 4 Toronto Blue Jays host the No. 5 Seattle Mariners.

In the NL, the L.A. Dodgers and Atlanta Braves have received byes to the NLDS. For the Wild Card round, it will be the No. 3 St. Louis Cardinals against the No. 6 Philadelphia Phillies. The No. 4 New York Mets face the No. 5 San Diego Padres.

The Division Series and League Championship Series will be carried by FOX, FS1 and TBS. The World Series will exclusively be broadcast on FOX.
