The Los Angeles Angels travel up north to take on the Seattle Mariners as they continue their West Coast road trip and look to turn a corner against another struggling American League West opponent.

Losers of their past three games and going 2-8 in their last 10, interim manager Phil Nevin has taken over an Angels club that has already seen its fair share of highs & lows.

The Angels were swept by the L.A. Dodgers in their short two-game Freeway Series, and if not for a ninth-inning run on Wednesday, they would be been shut out in both of them. They enter Thursday with a 29-35 record and sit in third place in the AL West.

However, the Angels might be able to gain some ground on the Houston Astros with Shohei Ohtani, Michael Lorenzen, and Patrick Sandoval slated to start against the Mariners.

Game 1 7:10 p.m. PT

Ohtani gets the ball in the first game, and coming off of his last start in which he went seven innings and allowed only one run on four hits against the Boston Red Sox, the Angels could use their ace.

His most recent outing ended a franchise-record losing streak, and in that game, Ohtani displayed some incredible emotion and carried the weight of the team and of that horrible streak, on his shoulders.

Ohtani has posted an ERA of 3.64 on the season and has struck out 41 hitters in his last 35 innings pitched.

The Mariners counter with George Kirby, who is in his first season in the majors and has posted a solid 3.65 ERA across seven starts.

The 24-year-old has allowed four home runs in his 11 innings this month.

Game 2 7:10 p.m. PT

Lorenzen will be making his 11th start of the season Friday against the Mariners, and on the season he carries a 3.45 ERA.

He has mainly relied on pitching to contact, and in his last start against the New York Mets, Lorenzen went 6.1 innings with only one earned run on six hits and four strikeouts.

Robbie Ray gets game two against the Angels after showing why he won the 2021 Cy Young with seven shutout innings versus the Red Sox. Ray only allowed three hits and let his defense do most of the talking with only four strikeouts.

Ray is a high strikeout arm who could feast on a struggling Angels offense that has fell victim to a high chase rate as of late.

Game 3 1:10 p.m. PT

Sandoval has certainly been the best and most consistent arm for the Angels this season with a 2.83 ERA and has an average of one strikeout per inning so far.

In their June 12 loss to the Mets, Sandoval turned in six innings of two-run baseball and was one strikeout short of tying his season-high in strikeouts.

The Mariners have not yet named a starting pitcher for the first game of the doubleheader.

Game 4 7:10 p.m. PT

Both clubs have not yet named starters.

Game 5 1:10 p.m. PT

Both clubs have not yet named starters.
