Royce Lewis homered twice and drove in four runs, powering the Minnesota Twins to a 12-3 win over the error-prone Los Angeles Angels on Monday night.

James Outman also went deep as Minnesota improved to 4-0 against the Angels this season, outscoring them by a combined 33-7. Los Angeles hurt itself with four defensive miscues, including two by third baseman Yoán Moncada.

Lewis, playing in front of his hometown crowd, opened his big night with a homer in the second inning that just grazed off the glove of Bryce Teodosio at the center-field wall. He struck again in the fifth, a two-run shot that put the Twins ahead for good at 5-3.

Simeon Woods Richardson (6-4) earned the win, giving up three runs while striking out six in five innings. Travis Adams added 1 2/3 scoreless frames with four strikeouts.

Minnesota piled on with contributions throughout the lineup. Luke Keaschall drove in a run with a single, Matt Wallner doubled in two, and Austin Martin added a double and scored three times. Despite the blowout, the Twins left 10 men on base and went just 4-for-18 with runners in scoring position.

For Los Angeles, starter Caden Dana (0-1) struck out a career-high nine batters but struggled with command, walking five and giving up five runs in 4 2/3 innings. Sebastián Rivero provided a bright spot with an RBI double in his first MLB game since 2022.

Lewis’ second homer of the game in the fifth inning turned a narrow 4-3 lead into a momentum-shifting two-run cushion, sparking the Twins’ offensive surge.

Lewis recorded his third career multi-homer game. He previously did it on July 20 in Colorado and again in the 2023 AL Wild Card against Toronto.
