Phase 2 of 2023 MLB All-Star Game voting opened Monday morning at 9 a.m. PT. The Los Angeles Angels had Mike Trout advance to the next round of voting for the 93rd Midsummer Classic that is being played at T-Mobile Park in Seattle.

With the exception of outfield for the NL and designated hitter for the American League, two finalists per position made it to Phase 2 of All-Star Game voting. The Atlanta Braves’ Ronald Acuña Jr. (3,082,600 votes) and Angels two-way phenom Shohei Ohtani (2,646,307) are cemented as All-Star Game starters by virtue of leading their respective leagues in fan voting.

Trout finished as the second leading vote-getter among AL outfielders with 1,174,001 votes behind New York Yankees’ outfielder Aaron Judge, who leads the outfield group with 1,584,254.

The Angels center fielder is a regular name in the Midsummer Classic. Trout has made the All-Star Game in every season since becoming a full-time starter in 2012.

With another selection, he would become just the fourth player in AL history to earn 10 fan elections with one club, joining Hall of Famers Cal Ripken Jr. (BAL, 17), George Brett (KC, 11) and Ken Griffey Jr. (SEA, 10).

Fans can complete a ballot once per every 24 hours during the current period, which closes at 9 a.m. on Thursday. Voting can be completed at Angels.com/vote.

Complete All-Star Game starters will be unveiled on ESPN later that night. The entire 2023 MLB All-Star Game rosters will be announced on Sunday, July 2, at 2:30 p.m. on ESPN.

The pitchers and reserves for National League and American League teams – totaling 23 for each side – will be determined through a combination of “Player Ballot” choices and selections made by the commissioner’s office.
