The 2023 MLB All-Star Game rosters were announced, with the Atlanta Braves leading the way by having eight players named to the National League team. The Texas Rangers checked in behind them with six players on the American League roster.

In addition to the starters who were elected by the fans, pitchers and reserve players were named to the All-Star Game roster by the Player Ballot – a vote of the players, managers and coaches – and by Major League Baseball.

In making the selections, MLB has ensured that each of the 30 Major League Clubs will be represented at the All-Star Game.

Braves’ Ronald Acuña Jr. was the leading vote-getter in the NL through Phase 1, which guaranteed him a starting spot. Los Angeles Angels two-way star Shohei Ohtani paced AL players in the first phase of voting.

Mike Trout, who drew a fan-elected start, was named to the Midsummer Classic for a 10th consecutive time, and he is followed by Nolan Arenado of the Cardinals (eighth straight) and Mookie Betts of the Dodgers (seventh straight).

Trout is also the senior-most All-Star with 11 career selections, followed by Clayton Kershaw (10), Arenado (8), Salvador Perez (8), Betts (7), Freddie Freeman (7), Gerrit Cole (6) and J.D. Martinez (6).

Despite being the All-Star Game host team, the Seattle Mariners only had Luis Castillo named to the AL roster. Julio Rodríguez is due to participate in the Home Run Derby.

The full 2023 MLB All-Star Game rosters feature 26 first-timers, including 15 from the NL.

With the elections of Corbin Carroll (Arizona Diamondbacks) and Josh Jung (Texas Rangers), this marks the first time both the AL and NL will feature a rookie in the lineup for the same All-Star Game.

Furthermore, it’s only the second time that two rookies have been named All-Star starters in the same year, joining 2008 when Chicago Cubs teammates Kosuke Fukudome and Geovany Soto earned fan elections.

There are also 25 internationally-born players named to the All-Star Game this year, with 15 on the AL roster and 10 on the NL team. They represent Cuba (eight All-Stars), the Dominican Republic (seven), Venezuela (five), Curaçao (two), and Japan, Canada and Puerto Rico (one each).

MLB All-Star Week includes the MLB All-Star Game presented by Mastercard (July 11th), Gatorade All-Star Workout Day featuring the Home Run Derby (July 10th), All-Star Saturday featuring the All-Star Futures Game and the All-Star Celebrity Softball Game (July 8th), the MLB Draft (July 9th-11th), the HBCU Swingman Classic (July 7th), and All-Star Village, which includes PLAY BALL PARK (July 8th-11th).

The 93rd Midsummer Classic will be televised nationally by FOX Sports; in Canada by Rogers Sportsnet and TVA Sports; and worldwide by partners in 209 countries. FOX Deportes will provide Spanish language coverage in the United States.

ESPN Radio will provide exclusive national radio coverage of the All-Star Game, while Univision will provide Spanish-language coverage on radio. MLB Network, MLB.com and SiriusXM also will provide comprehensive All-Star Week coverage.
