The 2022 Major League Baseball All-Star Game will take place on Tuesday night at Dodger Stadium. With the American League riding high with an eight-game winning streak, the National League will have to flip the script to snatch a victory in the Midsummer Classic.
On Monday, the starting lineups for the A.L. and N.L were released by Houston Astros manager, Dusty Baker, and defending World Series champion Atlanta Braves manager, Brian Snitker.
A.L. lineup
DH: Shohei Ohtani, Los Angeles Angels

3B: Rafael Devers, Boston Red Sox
1B: Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Toronto Blue Jays
LF: Giancarlo Stanton, Yankees
CF: Byron Buxton, Minnesota Twins

Angels superstar centerfielder, Mike Trout, will miss the All-Star Game for the third time in his career due to injury, in what is his 10th selection to the A.L. roster. After leaving a July 12 matchup against the Astros due to upper back tightness, he did not appear in a game leading up until the break. He has since been placed on the injured list due to left rib cage inflammation. Ohtani has opted to not pitch in the game but appear as just a designated hitter.
A.L. reserves: Jose Trevino (NYY), Luis Arraez (MIN), Ty France (Seattle Mariners), Santiago Espinal (TOR), José Ramírez (CLE), Xander Bogaerts (BOS), Corey Seager (Texas Rangers), Kyle Tucker (HOU), George Springer (TOR), Andrew Benintendi (KC), Julio Rodríguez (SEA), Yordan Alvarez (HOU), and J.D. Martinez (BOS), Miguel Cabrera (Detroit Tigers).
Snitker selected his lineup that will be headlined by seven straight right-handed hitters, and his star right-fielder will leadoff for the N.L. on Tuesday.
N.L. lineup
RF: Ronald Acuña Jr., Braves
CF: Mookie Betts, Los Angeles Dodgers
3B: Manny Machado, San Diego Padres
1B: Paul Goldschmidt, St. Louis Cardinals
SS: Trea Turner, Dodgers
C: Willson Contreras, Chicago Cubs
DH: William Contreras, Braves
LF: Joc Pederson, San Franciso Giants
2B: Jeff McNeil, Mets
SP: Clayton Kershaw, Dodgers
N.L. reserves: Travis d’Arnaud (ATL), Pete Alonso (NYM), C.J. Cron (Colorado Rockies), Freddie Freeman (LAD), Jake Cronenworth (SD), Nolan Arenado (STL), Austin Riley (ATL), Dansby Swanson (ATL), Kyle Schwarber (Philadelphia Phillies), Starling Marte (NYM), Ian Happ (CHC), Juan Soto (Washington Nationals), Garrett Cooper (Miami Marlins), Jazz Chisholm Jr. (MIA).
Both Kershaw and McClanahan are making their first career All-Star Game starts, and will two lefties on opposite ends of the age bracket, they also contrast each other in career accolades. But receiving the nod against MLB’s best players is another feather in the cap for both starters.
